The HR and Talent Acquisition Conference Guide: 75 Events to Know
PR
HR and talent acquisition professionals have a lot of conferences to choose from. Some bring together HR technology buyers. Others focus on recruiting, staffing, learning, benefits, or the future of work.
I’ve spent years working around these events: attending with clients, supporting booths and speakers, helping plan conferences, and producing content and gatherings alongside the show floor. A few of my favorites are ERE, Transform, Talent Acquisition Week, and RecFest.
This guide brings together events I’ve attended or worked on and a wider directory of conferences that may be useful to HR tech and talent leaders. The directory is a starting point for planning, not a claim that I’ve attended every event. Check each organizer’s site for current dates and details.
Conferences I know firsthand
Conference | My experience |
|---|---|
RecFest USA | I’ve attended every U.S. edition. The event has become a major part of my work with Purple Acorn, including our live recording tent, interviews, CMO Coffee Club, and other programming. |
HR Technology Conference & Exposition | I’ve attended many times with customers, supporting booths, speakers, and event activity. |
ERE Recruiting Innovation Summit | I’ve attended many editions and am now helping with event planning. It’s one of my favorite events in the industry. |
Talent Acquisition Week | I’ve attended four editions so far. The 2027 event will be my fifth. |
Transform | I’ve attended three editions and helped create programming and content around the event. |
UNLEASH America | I’ve attended four editions. |
SHRM Annual Conference & Expo | I’ve attended four editions, including client and industry activity around the conference. |
SHRM Talent | I’ve attended three editions. |
NAHCR Annual Conference | I’ve attended three editions, including ERIN events and conference activations. |
Some of my event work has taken place around the conference rather than on the show floor. Before RecFest UK, I worked on a private customer party at the House of Lords. The gathering brought together partners, influencers, clients, and a member of the House of Lords.
I also planned a media launch for a customer at SIA CollaborationX. Those projects show how conference work can include speakers, media, customer gatherings, and content—not only a booth.

Choosing the right event for your goals
A large conference isn’t automatically the best event for every HR tech company. Before committing, consider:
Who do you need to reach? HR leaders, talent acquisition teams, staffing firms, benefits leaders, learning teams, or technology partners?
What do you want to make happen? Meetings, demos, customer conversations, analyst briefings, podcast interviews, or a new market introduction?
Can you create a reason to engage? A customer story, a speaker, a gathering, a live recording, or an activity can give people more reason to remember you.
What will you capture and share afterward? Plan how photos, interviews, customer stories, and event conversations will continue across your blog, podcast, social channels, and media outreach.
Who owns the follow-up? Make sure someone is responsible for continuing the conversations after the event.
That last part matters. A conference can produce useful stories and relationships long after attendees leave. I’ve written more about that in From HR Tech Conference to Year-Round Content.
The right event is the one where your audience is present and you have a clear plan for what you want them to notice, discuss, and remember.
How should an HR tech company choose which conferences to attend? Start with the people you need to reach and the conversations you want to create. Then plan the customer stories, meetings, content, and follow-up that will make the event useful after the show floor closes. Planning your conference strategy? Book a call.
